My class is full of auditory learners; we are sorely in need of instructional technology that comes through quality headphones. Third graders use the RAZ reading program on a daily basis to grow their fluency and comprehension. They also use IXL standards-based math program, and finally, Type to Learn as they prepare to use keyboards for the many standardized tests to come.
Headphones mean they can engage fully in research-based group projects like animal research reports and create a published copy when they complete the writing process!
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Students will be able to focus and engage in the academic material at hand; not whether they can hear through old headphones with fraying cords or wait to share a pair. This disrupts their focus and distracts them from the learning at hand. Any enhancement to this tech-savvy world keeps them focused, on task, and learning independently -- crucial skills learned and strengthened in third grade.
