We want to grow thinkers and movers in our school. We are at a Title I school and our children do not have kits and tools at home to learned to build and create. We are expanding our library this year to include maker space lessons and time. We have already seen collaboration, academic discourse, and high engagement among the students with the few materials which we have to work. We would like to continue on this path with our students.
As we move forward we want students to use books and the internet to as resource to what might be created with these building materials. The culminating moment is when a student can communicate their logical thinking about what he/she has creating. This gives them ownership, which builds self-esteem.
About my class
