My students come from many diverse backgrounds. I want my students to be able to read books that they not only enjoy but ones that have to do with their backgrounds. I want my students to be comfortable while reading at school. I think it is so important to have a diverse amount of different books within my classroom for all of my students no matter where they come from. Allowing students to also read books in their dominant language that is spoken at home is so crucial in their learning. It allows them to connect their lives to school.
