As a middle school, we continue to pursue ways to promote literacy. Our goal is to foster a community of readers. This project will help to provide the same book for all students to read. The book will serve as a catalyst for students to interact and engage in school-wide book discussions. The book, Restart by Gordan Korman, allows students to think through issues surrounding bullying, concussions, veterans, and the impact of digital media. Middle school students can relate to the comedy and tragedy of the story and their conversations can focus around the themes of the book building a school community of readers. *Note: This project will be fund 20% of the Bay View's "One Book One School" campaign.
