I want to create 10-12 'Morning Exploration Tubs' filled with fun activities designed to help my little learners improve their fine motor skills and get their little hands and fingers conditioned for writing. Some of the activities I envision include: using laces to string beads, forming play-dough into letters and numbers, building and creating with the Magna-Tiles and picking up pom-poms with tweezers!
Not only will these 'Morning Exploration Tubs' improve fine motor skills in my students, but they will allow students to use their imagination, play and interact with their peers.
Right now, I usually hand out a coloring page or a handwriting practice page for students to work on as they trickle in for the day. Morning Tubs will rotate each week and I believe that my students will be highly engaged and excited to use them!
