My students are often creative with the limited hands-on materials that my classroom currently has. They are able to access frequent play breaks as needed throughout their day, to regulate themselves and after each academic block. We use building materials and manipulatives during social and academic activities.
My students often choose to build with Legos and cubes, but with eight students, it is often difficult to split limited materials. By having materials, such as Magna- tiles, and gears, there will be more attention and focus on learning experiences. These requested materials will be used during play breaks and small groups, to increase social and academic skills, fine motor skills and creativity.
