The Tiger's Coffee Cart is a project I fell in love with for my fifth-grade math group. This group is at the end of each day, so I try to give them a fun Friday where we still work on math. My idea is to have my group run a coffee cart for the teachers of the school.
This coffee cart will help my students to develop their social skills, planning skills, and their knowledge of money under the guidance of myself and my wonderful aid. The students will be in charge of advertising the cart before we start up the program. They will also, with my help, make a very large pot of coffee and cart it around the building making deliveries to teachers who have signed up from the day before. Students will make change and give the teachers their coffee and money back. With these tasks, students will be forced to work on their planning skills and money skills while having a fun, memorable, and meaningful experience.
This is a large project that will also get all of my students to work together for one common goal. While working together, they will be developing their social skills with their peers and adults. Please help me make this dream for my students and my future students come true.
