I have a third-grade classroom of lovable students. However, most are socially and economically low. Most have broken homes and lived with other family members such as grandparents, aunts, cousins, just to name a few. Sadly, they come to school hungry and deprived of sleep. If I can provide a simple snack for them during school and before they go home, basic needs will be provided so they can learn. If this need is met, I will feel as though I have helped in some type of way. These students struggle in school with all subjects. I feel that science is a hands-on subject that students can enjoy. If I can start with something simple such as owl pellets, then maybe they will gain a love for it. Owl pellets are very hands on and students love searching for the owl bones. They will use an owl pellet bone chart to lab the bones. I love science and I hope my students will as well. Thank you so much for helping.
