I am using technology with our new comer English Language Learners to enable them to immediately participate in all content areas. They need headphones to be able to listen to texts in all content areas without disrupting the other students.
These headphones will give all my students the same access to text. This is one way of promoting equity, bridging learning and allowing our students to continue learning content as they develop their English skills.
With the headphones, I will be able to change my students' content text to their language and they will be able to hear the content. It will also help students, whose literacy abilities are not yet developed, to speak to the computer for recording, see the text and hear their thoughts.
