Students in my class rarely get the opportunity to use their hands to create fun and exciting things. Building a hands on and play-based type of environment will help my English Language Learners enhance not only their vocabulary skills but their language skills in general. A lot of my students have not had the preschool experience. Therefore, their emergent literacy skills are somewhat non-existent. Therefore, having items such as the fairy tale play kit will help my students work with their peers, socialize and talk about curriculum based material.
My school has also become STEAM focused. My student rarely get a chance to build and be creative. We are trying to get these students become active participants in the real world. Therefore, exposing these students to engineering and building creative things will not only help their math skills, but their problem solving skills as well.
I have a few students in my class that have never set foot in a classroom before. Therefore, I would love to give them the best classroom environment possible that is active, stimulating, and language building. Therefore, all of these items listed are collaborative, creative, engaging, and hands on to where students will be able to work together with their peers.
