I am working with a very struggling population of socioeconomically disadvantaged students who are more likely to end up in prison than in college. My students have not had very many, if any, good experiences in school and do not believe in themselves, which I want to change by helping them learn to enjoy learning.
I am looking to provide increased opportunities to this under served population by including hands on labs which will enable them to learn, while problem solving and interacting. I am hoping to change not just mindsets, but their lives, by giving them the experience and knowledge to realize that they can achieve their goals.
