In my classroom students are being taught the necessary skills to interact with others in the school setting and also in real life with social skills activities that promote positive interaction with others. They are taught social skills using role-play and examples.
Our students learn in an abundance of ways, so different tools are needed to promote success. Each child is different and has individual needs that need to be met, which at times can be very challenging.
In our social skills lessons, books, videos, and hands-on activities are utilized to ensure all children are learning and their social and emotional needs are met.
