The materials provided will allow me to foster early literacy development by allowing students to explore letters in a fun and engaging activity. By providing me with a space saving color changing light table, I will also be able to engage students in early mathematical development by exploring numbers and shapes. The materials I am requesting will also provide students with the opportunity to practice their fine motor skills by using their hands to manipulate the letters, numbers, and shapes.
My students will benefit from the space saving, color changing light table, because it will support students with visual impairments, students with sensory needs, and spacial awareness. It will promote social skills by taking turns and sharing. Students will be able to work in small groups of 2-3 students and use the manipulatives connected to our unit lesson.
