With these Kindle devices, my special education students will have greater access to tools, cameras, and instructional applications that increase collaboration, problem-solving skills, literacy, and math development.
Many of our students do not have access to this technology at home so it is important that we provide them with the tools they need to become 21st-century learners.
The students will create projects individually or in groups using the tablets and collaborate with one another during the process with apps such as Seesaw or when using our district-wide Office 365 platform. We will also use them to provide e-books and audiobooks for students from our school district's digital libraries. Student motivation will also increase when using educational applications and can help provide more opportunity for student choice. I also see a variety of opportunities to utilize the tablets to teach social-emotional skills to my students.
