Currently, my students are unable to independently transition between activities during class. In order to increase their independence, I want to provide them visual schedules. These schedules will help them identify what their next activity is and where they should go within the classroom. Without the schedules, my students will continue to rely on adult prompting and assistance to transition between activities.
I also want to increase independence during class time. With these supplies, I will be able to create colorful, visual, and durable file folder activities that will allow my students to independently practice the skills I have taught them. Research shows that students on the spectrum benefit from tactile activities that allow them to physically manipulate the materials, rather than traditional paper and pencil methods. These materials will help me provide that to them.
