Our little learners are beginning to understand the value of reading. Our classroom is well organized for learning but when it comes to having places for students to practice independent reading, we fall short. I've identified areas in my classroom where we can create reading nooks, places for undisturbed reading enjoyment.
While the classroom is rich with books of many topics, this project will help make reading fun as children become lost in the magic of a book. The small rug will provide a specific corner that is calming in color yet pleasing and inviting. The small pillows and bean bags will allow flexibility in seating arrangement and increase engagement in reading. My goal is to motivate children to read and empower them with a tool that will allow them to continue learning all their lives.
