During our next unit of study, we will be reading about and discussing racial injustice through the lens of the book Maniac Magee. Scholars will be able to look at many events throughout history and compare to our novel Maniac Magee in an effort to notice and wonder about patterns of racial injustice.
In this new and ever evolving virtual world, our kids are nostalgic and craving the feel of holding a physical book for reading. Having our scholars have access to a physical book at home will make this unit that much more engaging, meaningful and will come as close to feeling like a classroom as we can get!
