In our math classroom, we are using a blended learning model. This means that students are receiving their instruction through short videos created by myself. Not only does this allow them to receive distraction-free instruction, but it also allows them to move at a pace at which they are comfortable and one that suits their individual needs. This model also frees me up from using up valuable class time lecturing and managing and gives me an opportunity to spend more one-on-one time with my students--checking their understanding or just getting to know them.
Last year, my students found great success with this model, but we quickly ran out of earbuds for everyone to use. For the students who did not own their own pair of earbuds, I tried to keep a class set available for students to use, clean, and return. However, this could not be sustained due to the financial burden and low quality of the earbuds being purchased.
These earbuds will provide ALL of my students with their own pair and even leave us with extras so we can replace any throughout the year.
