These materials will be strategically used to transform my classroom to allow students to practice skills in a real world situation. First, we will transform into a hospital to allow my students to become doctors, complete with masks and hats, to diagnose a patient to practice their knowledge on the Human Body Systems. Next, we will travel to a Construction Site where my students will be Architects who will get to design and create a city to use their fraction, graphing, and geometry skills. Finally, we will go to a restaurant where they will get to be customers, waiters, and cooks who will need to calculate total, tip, change, and serving sizes to build number sense and practice operational skills with decimals and fractions. All from the classroom!
When you donate to this project you are helping a child gain real world experiences using classroom skills in a hands on way.
You will be allowing a child to experience something they would not have the opportunity to otherwise. They will get the chance to use their classroom skills with peers to solve problems, communicate effectively, and gain real world experiences.
