Students in St. Paul Public Schools are moving towards an interactive classroom framework. This means that students are advancing in technology, and our schools are supporting them by incorporating more technology-based tools to help enhance their learning.
Unfortunately, our school currently lacks the funding to support this specific technology piece. My project is requesting an interactive SMART board for my classroom. With an interactive SMART board, we will be able to project our work, and students will be able to manipulate and solve the work directly on the board.
Here are a few reasons why we are fundraising for this project. First, the students LOVE to to show their work in front of the class. Directly manipulating the work with the projector would help make the learning engaging and exciting for them. Second, the interactive SMART board will allow students to connect their learning from their own iPad to the big screen. Students learn so much better when they see examples and learn from one another, and the interactive board would allow this learning style to happen. Lastly, an interactive board will make the classroom more safe, organized, and efficient.
The projector has proved to be a hazard for the students. It also takes up a lot of space in a room of 24 kids. Without this distraction, the students will have the space to feel comfortable and ready to learn.
Please consider donating to my wonderful students! They love to learn and work so hard. They deserve the best learning environment, and I fully believe that this new technology will serve them in their education.
