These materials will provide the class with the ability to experiment with electricity, force and motion, and environmentally sustainable energy solutions. The kids will be able to work collaboratively on projects, honing not only their executive function skills but also their social skills. They will be able to analyze what is available to them in relation to their project goal, plan, and draft, test, and improve upon their designs. Our first projects will be more step-by-step/teacher-directed, and will involve creating light-up bookmarks using button batteries, copper tape, LED lights and tagboard. The following projects will be from the pre-planned kits, and subsequent projects will be more student-directed. My hope is to step back and become a facilitator for small group projects.
