As the school librarian I know it is essential to have a wide variety of books, covering all of the different genres and a range of reading levels. Since we are a new school, our library collection is in its beginning stages of growth. Many more books are needed to fill our shelves and provide the resources necessary to draw in our young learners, leading them to a love for reading. This project will help fill our library shelves, enabling students to learn and grow through literacy and inspiring a lifelong love for reading. It is also critical that we have enough books so that students can "check them out". This allows them to have a sense of ownership over their reading as well as building skills such as responsibility and independence. Help us fulfill our mission of creating a culture of lifelong learning built on a foundation of literacy and a love for reading.
