The theme this year, for the students at my school, is to “Level Up” to success; in which the curriculum plan created to help my students reach their fullest potential this year, involves the following online resources: i-Ready, Reflex Math, and Go Math Personal Math Trainer. I am requesting laptops and a tablet to help my students “Level Up”, in which I know they are sure to do with the proper classroom technology.
Nearly 80% of my students are working one or more grade levels below their academic level on i-Ready Math; and I believe with the proper resources, they will be able to close their learning gaps and improve their overall i-Ready math level.
My first graders are ready for the challenge and the tasks ahead they will need to complete in order to increase their math skills, but unfortunately only 10 out of 41 of my students are able to successfully complete their weekly math assignments (i.e. i-Ready weekly math lessons, Go Math Practice lessons, etc..). This can all change, with the addition of technology, in which my students will be able to learn and practice new math skills and concepts each week, as well as have the opportunity to reach their weekly goal on i-Ready; which will ultimately increase their academic knowledge and prepare them for 2nd grade.
The laptops and tablet will be utilized daily throughout the year and will not only help to reinforce my math lessons but increase every students’ learning, despite their academic abilities. As stated previously, the students in my class are ready for the challenge and tasks ahead for them to “Level Up” and increase their math skills; and with the addition of technology to my classroom, they will be sure to reach their fullest potential!
