Working in a school with students from low-income households, students having the supplies needed for our daily work is almost nonexistent for many. We are constantly cutting, pasting, and using different colors in our reading journals. We also have very limited storage space in our classroom for supplies and journals. The supplies requested are just simple supplies needed such as markers, glue, pencil sharpeners, and scissors. We also need a place to store the supplies and journals so included is supplies caddies and drawer storage for journals.
With these new supplies and storage options, my students will be more excited to be in class without worries of not having what they need. My goal with these supplies is to allow the students to leave worries at home and know that when they come into my class they will have one concern, which is to learn.
