My students thoroughly enjoy being read to! They will sit, listen and want to participate! I try to make sure that the books I am reading to them have a lesson or meaning behind the story that we can then have a discussion about or complete an activity on. These books that I have selected are intrusive to my teaching everyday. They will help me teach my students about problems in their lives. When my students have some of these "big" problems or "big" emotions they tend to feel like they are the only ones. By reading these books and having an open discussion it gets to show them that they kid sitting next to them understands them. These books will be an amazing edition to my room and used for a very meaningful purpose. They will help me teach my students new strategies and remind them of one ones. It will help keep my students interested and engaged in their social emotional learning!
