Reading will help support my English learners to build their vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and writing skills. Reading consistently will improve all my students' English skills and translate across different content areas. Fredrick Douglas said, "Once you learn to read, you will be forever free." Students who become strong readers will be capable of teaching themselves anything they want. In this information age, being a strong reader and critical thinker is more important and valuable than ever. The freedom reading brings will open doors students never knew existed before.
