My students, who are 3, 4 and 5 grow so fast that it is hard for their families to keep up with appropriate clothing for seasonal changes. One hundred percent of my students are the children of migrant agricultural workers, live in poverty and speak a language other than English. They struggle to keep their housing and meet basic needs. When winter suddenly hits, my students do not have coats that fit or that are appropriate for the wind, rain or snow. They are wet and cold, making learning a less enjoyable and meaningful experience. With your support and care, I can already imagine these little ones excited about meeting new friends and playing outside!
