Our school is located in a high risk area where close to 100% of our students receive a free or reduced lunch. Our special day class has become a positive learning space where our students feel welcomed. Several of the students have a difficult time meeting their behavior goal that states they have to sit through an activity. I have provided cushions and other things to make our classroom chairs comfortable and appealing. I feel very strongly that adding a variety of flexible seating options will greatly help these students meet their goal. Aside from the positive reinforcement, the flexible seating will also help with the sensory needs of the students.
