This year our students have been on heat transfer in science. We want to continue this exploration with this understanding by creating solar ovens. We want to provide a memorable experience for not only our students in class, but also those that are participating in distance learning. These supplies will help provide our students with a memorable learning experience to finish out their elementary years. This project will be STEAM focused by not only focusing on science, but also bringing in their skills in technology, engineering, art and math. We will be so grateful for your generous donations!
Whether in-person or distance learning, we have a mix of both, students will be able to create a STEAM-focused project for our school-wide STEAM expo! Students will use the box as a vessel to create their solar oven. The foam, foil and construction paper will act as the heat conductors. The film will be a window so any air can't escape as the chocolate is being melted. The duct tape will be used for many purposes throughout the project.
With these materials, our students will have the opportunity to learn and grow as STEAM focused scholars, ready to take on the world!
