These xylophones will be used by all K-5 students in our school. We are a Title 1 high poverty school in Washington State. We serve the highest poverty level in our state. 98% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Many of our students have adverse childhood experiences with a high amount of trauma in their lives. Music is a way to help them feel joy. Hands-on xylophones will give kids a chance to feel highly successful accompanying themselves singing and playing music.
Adding these xylophones to our existing instruments will reach many more student hands and will be utilized and enjoyed by many students.
