These items will make a huge difference in the life of our students. They will be able to have their sensory needs met while in the classroom allowing them to benefit from their educational environment. When children with sensory processing difficulties have access to the tools that help them regulate, they are able to focus more on learning. Many of the materials listed here are specifically for a sensory corner in the hallway of 5th and 6th grade. having a "calm down" corner that is close to the classroom gives them a sensory break from overwhelming noises, sights, and a busy environment. Having a sensory safe space to go to for a moment can give our students confidence and security.
