My children are so eager to learn! They are just beginning to understand the words that are all around them every day. They are so excited to be emerging readers, and will develop so quickly in this and the next few years. By giving them books to match their reading level, I can help my kids develop independent learning skills and the confidence that they can read on their own! We are lucky in our school to have access to Leveled Reading books, which do such a good job of matching content and difficulty to each child's level. However, as our school grows in size, we need more books to support each grade level of students. New leveled books in our class will ensure that our students have access to the books when they are ready for them! Recess is also such an important time for my students! Not only do they work on fine and gross motor skills, and social interactions during this time, but they also get the "wiggles" out, so that they are ready to re-enter the classroom and learn some more! A new classroom playground cart will help us manage our recess equipment better, and help it last longer, so that the kids have the enough toys to share, and a clear place to put them when they are done.
