This project is to help get students items that will help regulate the behaviors during the school day. A nice calm down area to de-stress in a more school appropriate way. Students need sensory items to help them calm down, from weighted blankets to feel secure, stress balls to release the anger inside them, or the soft feel of kinetic sand to feel the smoothness of the world going through their fingers.
The objects that are requested are to make the classroom a safe, secure, and comfortable area for every student who needs to regroup throughout the day to come. The general education classroom can be very overstimulating for students who have had a lot of trauma in their lives.
