Right now my Kindergarteners do not have access to technology on a daily basis. My classroom does not have computers, laptops, or tablets for the students to use. If we had iPads in our classroom, the students could take turns during Guided Reading and Exploration Time. This will help them with their letter recognition, letter sounds, sight words, reading, and comprehension. In Math, they will be able to use the iPads to work on recognizing numbers, counting, shapes, patterns, addition, and subtraction.
Some of my students do not have access to technology at home, so this would be extremely advantageous for them.
I believe that having technology in the classroom would not only motivate students to learn, but inspire them to new heights. Also, this would teach them that iPads are not just just for playing games, they can help us learn to become better readers, writers, and mathematicians.
