My students would benefit from 6 wobble stools, 6 cushions, and 6 "book boats" (30 gallon tubs) to help them stay focused and engaged in our daily centers. My students will be able to "wobble" on the stool while still staying on task with me during reading and math centers! My students are ages 5-6 and need to move throughout the day.
These 6 wobble stools will give each child a chance to move around during guided reading and math centers where they meet with me daily to work on their individual needs. Most tasks are asking students to sit still, which is very hard at this age. I want my students to be able to wobble and move around while they are learning. This will make learning more fun and engaging. My students will be allowed to move while working instead of putting all their focus on sitting still in a chair.
The "book boats" and cushions will be used to create a comfortable area for the students to read without distractions. These tools would significantly change my students' classroom environment from sitting still to moving around and being more engaged!
