Although all students have individual learning needs that must be met, there is a warm feeling of communal success when the whole class is sitting on the carpet learning together.
Being able to turn and talk to a neighbor to discuss the meaning of a story or debate what the best math strategy is to solve a problem, as well as being able to sit outside of desks and learn from a different area of the classroom are just a few of the main benefits to working as a whole group on the carpet in the classroom.
