There are various ways in which students are and will be exposed to literacy. The world is constantly evolving and my students are going to have a giant impact on the future. The novels chosen range from nonfiction memoirs to prose and poetry. Exposing them to our diverse society will make them global citizens capable of compassion and empathy.
With these diverse literature choices, they will be able to make connections not only to the classics but also their current experiences, and their futures. Students are always watching, learning, growing, and by giving them a chance to see themselves represented in these novels, the connections they make will be life changing.
