Kindergarten students are, by nature, very active. By providing flexible seating options they will be given the opportunity to choose a variety of seats throughout the day that can give them different levels of comfort or different meet different sensory needs and this, in turn, will increase the level of engagement in all activities happening in the classroom. Just by giving the students the option to move to the place the is the best fit for them gives them some power and ownership over their learning. This is something that I have wanted to do for several years but have never had the means or opportunity to do so.
