I just switched to teaching middle school math. The students have had issues with loving math and there has been turnover in the position I am in. Students will use these items to play games with each other, do group math, and share the love of reading to build relationships. Then I know the math skills will grow from there.
Since August, I have had several students with a decrease in behaviors and increase in math scores and positive recognition in my classroom. They are taking notes and completing work. I am so excited to see how much more growth we have! Students will use these supplies everyday for math notes, charts, graphing, group work and for organizing their group materials and supplies. Each class is color coded so they can easily access materials and this helps them know where belongings go. These materials will help students with organizational skills as well as holding each other accountable within their team groups.
