Sit still! Sit up! Stop fidgeting! Sit down! I’m sure at one point in our elementary experience we were all a victim of this mentality. But the elementary classroom is changing! Gone are the days when students are expected to sit in one position all day long. Children need an opportunity to get up and move their bodies every 15-30 minutes to maintain focus and avoid feeling overwhelmed or to prevent information overload. Studies show that movement in the classroom improves behavior, concentration, and time on task leading to academic success. Giving students the opportunity to move their bodies during tasks that they are required to sit for long periods of time will benefit their brains immensely. These wiggle stools are the perfect solution to this problem.
