I want all my students to read for pleasure and fun. I want to offer my students a relaxing place to open a wonderful book and take a new adventure. There are so many benefits of reading for my students: making connections to the world; exercising their brain; helping relieve stress; gaining new knowledge; expanding their vocabulary and writing skills; improving their memory; stronger thinking skills; being able to focus; and finding entertainment inside a good book. As a teacher, it is a BIG challenge to get some students to read for fun. Having a cozy reading area will help me in my goal of encouraging my students to lifelong readers.

About my class
