The items I am requesting for my students would really help us transform our classroom into more of their own space. We have been trying to get this up and running for a while now but as a Title 1 school we just don't have the funding. The bean bag chairs would serve as a break from the traditional chairs in our classroom, we currently have some extremely pre-loved beans bag chairs now that have just lost their "oomf". With the rest of the items we are hoping to give our classroom a space that gives the students a sense of comfort almost like home. The fake plants, lamp, carpet, and floor tiles would really help us jump start this space for the kids to continue to add to with their rich cultures and personalities.
We have so many diverse learners in our classrooms who deserve to have a space to learn that is fun and that fits their needs. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Seniors tend to get what we teachers call "Senioritis" towards the middle of the year and having a space like this can greatly boost morale and engagement. I want to be able to give my students an experience that will stick with them for the rest of their lives and I want them to be a part of it as well. With these items on this list it will allow for the groundwork in creating the space and from there we plan to let our students further make the space their own.
