So often we hear that "Good readers are made on the lap of parents" but what happens to those readers who do not have books at home to read? These leveled readers will be sent home with students, who have been identified as need extra reading support, on a daily basis in the form of a lending library for students and their families.
The students will be able to pick a book that interests them at their independent level and take it home to read to and with their families. Research shows that the more a child reads the better reader they become. These students are enjoying becoming better readers and want to share their love of reading with their families. This project will help build a strong love of reading for both the student and their parents.
