The 6th grade World History Team is knees deep in Steam projects and we are planning a huge culminating project for our Ancient Egyptian unit. We are planning to mummify Cornish Hens right before Thanksgiving break. This project will allow our students to use the principles of STEAM to show how science, arts, and math all played into the science of mummification. The students will be able to physically see the chemical change in the Cornish Hens, be able to design and construct the death masks for their 'sarcophagus'. A plus to this project is that we will be able to use the paint cans for years to come and continue this project with new students.
