Literacy and language skills are key to later reading success. My students are very interested in the variety of books that are available to them. They eagerly explore the bookstand searching for books. What I am not able to currently offer my students is a fully furnished reading area for which they have a soft area to read. Having a vinyl couch will provide them a supportive sitting area for which they can explore books independently, with friends, or with a teacher. I have witnessed students' love for a reading couch in previous classrooms and look forward to providing my current and future students a relaxing area for which to read.
