STEM education has placed a heavy emphasis on problem-solving and engineering practices. Many schools have created robotics programs in order to help students explore this new and exciting learning opportunity that focuses on problem-solving skills, engineering, and collaborative learning. As a new program at my school, many of my students have little to no experience with robotics but are willing and excited to learn.
With these Lego Mindstorm kits, I can help these students start their robotics program and advise them on their new and innovative learning experience, rooted in 21st century thinking and practices. We are a new club and we have no money to start this program and no supplies to help these students learn more about robotics aside from a single robot that has been donated from a family member. We are looking to eventually compete in nationwide programs, but we need these kits to help learn the basics of robotics instruction so that my students can feed this newfound interest of theirs.
