I will begin a Parent/Child tutoring program in January of 2020, which will give parents information on the importance of early literacy, tips on how to read with their children, and support with any questions and concerns they may have about curriculum, teaching methods, or education policy in the state of Georgia.
Creating partnerships with parents of diverse cultures, in order to form a school community which focuses on the knowledge and experiences the families bring with them, rather than on what families may be lacking, has been shown to have a positive impact on the academic success of children. The Parent/Child tutoring class is designed to do just that.
About my class
