The Beehive Book Award contest is a program where the children get to read and vote for their own favorite books. I hope that by having these books in my class the children will read them and be exposed to ideas they may not have seen before. What I like about the Beehive Book award contest is the broad range of books that are selected. Students in Utah are often not exposed to a wide range of cultures and ideas. The books on this program are designed to open minds. I especially like "Malala's Magic Pencil." I hope that more exposure to world ideas will inspire my students to do good in the world.
