I envision my classroom with 3 small 1-2 student stations, practicing the individual skills that they need. These students have individualized goals, and while they are in my classroom, I strive to ensure that their goals, plans, and personal needs are met. I currently have, an independent sight word station, a partner writing with phonics station, and a strategy station where students will meet with me.
With this technology, I will be able to better provide my students with an engaging way to target their specific learning goals. With these tools, my students will have interactive programs to familiarize their personal vocabulary and word decoding strategies. They will have the opportunity to read a wider range of independent level texts, and listen to more advanced texts for comprehension. The most exciting part is that this is something my students can manage themselves. Transitioning between activities and staying on task will be something these tools can help with! This is all while I am able to my time with my students one-on-one so that I can best individualize their instruction. Additionally, this will help me to best monitor their progress!
This same principle will apply in my math groups. My students will have an engaging way to practice their target learning skills and I can maximize my instruction time with my other groups of students.
