Currently, without a rug, some of my students like to sit way far away from where I am teaching and I have to take time out of my lesson to get them to an appropriate place on the carpet.
Having a rug in my classroom will give my students a special place to sit during whole group lessons and class meetings! A rug will also add some color and brighten up the classroom. We spend so much of our day gathering on the carpet to do mini lessons before going off and working independently, and having a rug would make it more special for my students and feel like they have an actual place to go for their lesson.
